Arvind Dadur, one of their managers tells us; their
Motichoor Laddoo is the most in demand. He says,
“Our chaats are very popular and some of our outlets
offer full fledged North Indian thalis. In a day we get
about 3000-4000 customers.”

They even have an entire variety of dry fruits,
chocolates and sweets. Founded in 1988, Anand
Sweets has been the leading the Indian sweets
category for years. This store has always maintained
its standards and continues to keep customers happy
throughout.

Our verdict: The place to go if you want to try out
all the different Indian sweets you have heard about.
Don’t let the name fool you as they have a variety of
mouth-watering chaats.

Vasudev Adiga’s

adigas picIf you’re looking for a restaurant which serves the best South Indian food in town, then Vasudev Adiga’s is the place for you to eat at. Vasudev Adiga’s is all about fresh food, served fast. The food
is priced at an affordable amount. They are very famous for their butter masala dosa’s which is also
the customers favorite.

Amanda said, “I go to Adiga’s every weekend for breakfast, the food is neatly presented and
is very appetizing. The service and ambience is great.”

Vasudev Adiga’s is also known for their coffee which is perfect to start your day with!

Our verdict: The best time to go to Adiga’s is in the morning because it gets crowded during the day and
orders tend to get delayed.

Koshy

koshys picKoshy’s of Bangalore is recognized as an
“establishment of Bangalore”, a very popular
restaurant and hangout on St Mark’s
road. It is owned by the Polachirackal
family in Bangalore originally from Mavelikkara.
Koshy’s is a meeting point for journalists, artists,
theatre persons, students and foreigners. Founded in
1940, it retains an old-world charm with huge pillars
and large fans.

The main building has Parade Café, which is
simply referred as Koshy’s, the Jewel Box restaurant
and a bakery. They have two sections. The left part
of the restaurant is non AC and the right part is for
fine dining and drinks. The ambience is excellent
and gives you a feel of Kerala architecture. Sunday
breakfasts have always been reserved for the quintessentially
classic Kerala staple. It houses even one
of the oldest bars in the city and is actually a landmark
in Bangalore. What Leopold’s is to Mumbai,
Koshy’s is to Bangalore.

Our verdict: Koshy’s is a place for you to go in case
you want to be in an old times café wanting to chill
and have some good meal on the side.

Must try: Sunday breakfasts.

Glens Bakery

a vintage look on the outside. The bakery
has a warm and appealing atmosphere.You
look around this cream coloured building
you will find witty quotes hung on the wall. There is
an indoor and outdoor seating available.

The bakery is unlike any others in the city,
with unique ideas like birdhouses on the walls to
enhance the décor. When it comes to the service, the
waiters are friendly and pretty serious about their
customers’ satisfaction.

Apart from a variety of confectionery like
cupcakes, pies, cheesecake and waffles they do have
pizzas, sandwiches and soup.

They are famous for the English Breakfasts’ they
serve. Every item on the menu is fresh and tasty. We
spotted Manjusha Naik a student from MCC and she
said, “The Red Velvet Cupcakes are to die for. I’ve
never had anything quite like it and it’s not even
expensive.”

“Glens” has been around for years and it is always
filled with a cheery crowd.

Our Verdict: The ‘to go place’ to satisfy those sweet
cravings. Get there early before the place fills up.

Must Try: The Sunday Breakfast, Red Velvet Cupcakes.

Church Street Social

On the outside, Church street social might
look like just another building around
the block, but inside it completely
contradicts the previous statement. Soft rock/indie
rock fills your ears as your enter this usually crowded
place. Apart from the college crowd who frequent
this place, you do find couples, families and even
business gatherings unwinding here.

The food and drinks menu along with the rest of the
items at the table have a fun, quirky, unexpected way
to it.

The food menu covers a wide variety ranging from
cheesy nachos to chinese to biryani.

The drinks menu covers the usual hard alcohol along
with their speciality of Longest Long Island Ice Tea.

Although the service might not be super-fast, it’s
totally worth the wait. They also have a board room,
workspace and high speed Wi-Fi connection.

Our Verdict : This rugged yet stylish restro-bar is a
must visit place when you’re in the mood to unwind.

Must Try : Cosmo Explosion, LLIT and cheesy
nachos.

Price Range : Rs.500 above per head.

Cafe Thulp

Walking into Cafe Thulp gives you a
bright and cheery welcome. You can see
comic/graffiti writing on the wall. There
is also japanese anime inspired prints.
The wordplay on the menu is entertaining and the
quick service is another positive point.

A meat lover will love the hamburger menu which
is totally meat-centric. There they also specialise in
sandwiches, pastas and steaks. Vegetarians aren’t disappointed
either as they have a lot of options.

Founded by Gautam Krishankutty, also the head chef
as made Thulp known to serve some of the best burgers
in town. Hoshedar from CMS says, “Yum yum
burgers. I have no words to describe the taste and
the variety of burgers available here. Been here many
times, tried various burgers, each one being yum
yum yummy.”

Our Verdict : If you are in the mood for a good
burger or sandwich, this is the place to be.

Must Try : Moo’s Yo Daddy burger, Spaghetti meatballs.
Price Range : Rs.500-Rs.700 for two.
