the shows of that sort, this is the place to be. On stepping foot into the shop, your eyes immediately fall

way to it.

Whether it’s James Bond, Harry Potter or Marilyn Monroe, they’ve got the posters in all shapes and
sizes. Not just celebrity figures, but also hit bands like Pink Floyd and Rolling Stones they have mugs and
Tee-shirts available. Shashank, a student from Bishop Cottons School says, “I’m a huge fan of Batman,
and it’s insane how they have every collectable item.” “The superhero collectables stuck on the wall is very
original, like Thor’s hammer and Captain America’s shield.” Need we describe this place more?

would love to wear. The very appearance of
the shop is catchy and draws your attention.
Filled with bright colourful designs and the latest
clothes, this is a girl’s paradise. The collection of
shoes is very different compared to the other shops.
It’s not the regular shoes or heels, they have commando
boots and chunky heels. They also sell different
kinds of wigs and hair accessories, sunglasses
and handbags. Although it may appear to burn a hole
through your wallet, it proves otherwise.

The staff is friendly and will help you out in
finding the right size, unlike other shops where the
sales assistants seem to be breathing down your neck
while you look around.

Psybabas

psy picOn Castle Street in Ashoknagar lurks a singular establishment which despite its relatively small size,
stands out from its neighbours. It should too, if it’s painted like the inside of a kaleidoscope gone
haywire and boasts a signboard equally psychedelic, which promises to put you in touch with “natural
cosmic elements.”

Inside, one can find all sorts of odd trinkets, everything from clothes to organic foodstuffs such as
jams and pickles. They stock a lot of leather: wallets, knee-length boots, and jackets, trinkets like bangles,
earrings and bracelets. This is stuff you wouldn’t quite find anywhere else and you will get this urge to dig
into the merchandise to find the oddities that lurk deeper inside the shelves.

Psybaba’s was started six and a half years ago by Saher and Tanya. Most of the leatherwork is handcrafted
by Saher and Tanya. They source other tailored and embroided articles in Bangalore.

Our verdict- Psybaba’s could put a dent in your purse but you could splurge as their products are
original and one of a kind.

Price Range- Most of their products cost between Rs.500 and Rs.5000, although one can find trinkets
for as little as Rs.50 or less.

Bierre Republic

bierre picThe Sunday brunch at Bierre Republic located
on Church Street is a local favorite.
A place that brews its own beer is popular
among the young and old alike. The huge signage
outside Pavillion Mall serves as a beacon of hope as
you trudge past two floors of desolation and alien-
looking faux vegetation to finally land up, ironically,
near a man in a sailor suit! Another small flight of
stairs gets you to the dining area with many parts
— alfresco with a few enclosed portions, a smoking
section, a smaller lounge area, and even an ‘upper
deck’.

Zaver says, “The whole idea of a roof top
restaurant isn’t really new but when it is topped with
nice food,it definitely adds up to be a great place. The
ambience is nice. The unlimited package for brunches
is quite worth it. Also the seating arrangement
is really good with a bunch of booths that are hung
from a pole. I tried the chicken nachos and chicken
steak. Honestly, pretty much the best nachos I have
had so far.”

Haifa says, “ After much research and deliberation,
on a Sunday, we visited Bierre Republic.
And might I add, it was perfect. The swinging chairs,
the warm winter sun and breeze in your hair, perfectly
made cocktails, decent service (except on a
few crowded Sundays),delicious potato skins and an
above average barbeque chicken pizza – could we
ask for more? I’d recommend it any day!”

UNCOVERed Opinion: Perfect way to start your
Sunday. Excellent food and great ambience. Thumbs
up to Bierre Republic.

Blimeys

blimeyA place known for its Sunday brunches, Blimeys is located in the heart of the city. It is also known for
its Bollywood Night organized by popular event organizer Viren Khanna. It is located on the fifth
floor of the 1 MG mall. You will always find a line of people waiting to enter on a happening weekend.

which gives us a choice of music to listen to. A must check out place.”

Rahul, 23, says, “I visited Blimeys two weeks ago with a group of my colleagues. I loved the place
and the service was good. One setback of the place is that they do not have fixed events in a week and thus
every party we go to has a different atmosphere.”
